Monitoring
An external monitoring system provides continuous electronic recording of the freezer temperature. The probe's internal, battery-backed memory provides storage for over 10,000 individual readings. These readings are transferred to Cryo-store's server system on a daily basis. The probes run on mains power but also have their own power supply in the event of a failure.
A power monitoring system continuously checks the mains supply and will provide back up power to the temperature probes in addition to their own internal power supply. In the event of a power failure, the alarm system will activate.
Secondary monitoring, smoothing, cleaning and emergency supply is provided by the UPS system connected to the computer network. All inventory and temperature data is securely archived in several formats.
Power Management
The electricity supply is continuously monitored and 'cleaned'.
The storage equipment and computer server are on a separate power supply with an emergency power generator on line in the event of an electricity failure.
Security
Within the facility, there is significant physical security as well as a full coverage intruder alarm and deterrence system. The facility is located within a walled and gated business park. The site has CCTV coverage and manned on-site security.
